Long 300 words

Kay Malcolm is Vice President of AI Database Product Management at Oracle, a 2026 LinkedIn Top Voice for AI, and a LinkedIn Learning instructor. She leads a team focused on AI and data strategy, customer programs, and turning database technology into practical business value, across more than 20 years inside the rooms where enterprise AI gets built, debated, and shipped.

She started as an electrical engineer at the Department of Defense at the age of 16, worked through Accenture and Southern Company as a database administrator, and joined Oracle in 2007, where she stayed because the problems kept getting more interesting. At Oracle she built LiveLabs from concept: a self-service platform that combines hands-on learning with solution stacks to help customers see the art of the possible and move from demo to MVP production faster. It now serves more than 50 million views and powers every major Oracle global event. She has delivered AI strategy to C-suite teams at Fortune 100 companies and more than 300 enterprise accounts worldwide.

Kay teaches as much as she ships. She published the LinkedIn Learning course AI Agents and Agentic Memory, ran the Oracle Database Cloud certification program for Oracle University, and wrote an Applied Database Systems curriculum now in use at more than 70 universities worldwide, which she lectures at Howard University. She has also guest lectured at the Georgia Institute of Technology on data and AI.

She is the creator of AI For You, a weekly newsletter that translates enterprise AI into plain English for corporate professionals, written for capable people in corporate roles who were ashamed to admit what they did not know. She writes as Your Work Bestie, and reaches audiences as @iamkaymalcolm across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Kay has keynoted the AI Engineer World's Fair, hosted Oracle AI World and DatabaseWorld, and spoken at Oracle CloudWorld, Oracle OpenWorld Shanghai, and Carnegie Hall. She is a retired hip hop dance instructor and a proud mother of two grown sons.

Signature Talks

Talks.

Each is delivered as a keynote and adapts to a fireside, panel, or workshop. To book: kaymalcolm.com/speak.

01

AI & the Future of Work

The question people have is not "will AI take my job" but "what does my job become." Kay answers it from inside a company shipping the technology, not from the sidelines.

Best for. All-hands and conference mainstages; audiences more anxious than expert.

Format. 30–45 minute keynote, or a 20-minute talk with moderated Q&A.

02

Agentic AI for Enterprise

Agents fail in production for reasons demos never surface: memory, context, reliability, and the unglamorous architecture underneath. This is the practitioner version of the course Kay teaches.

Best for. Technical and product audiences; engineering organizations; AI strategy summits.

Format. 45-minute keynote or a half-day workshop.

03

Building at Scale Inside Large Organizations

Kay built Oracle LiveLabs from an idea into a platform serving more than 50 million views, inside a company of Oracle's size. The honest account of how something new survives a large organization.

Best for. Internal leadership summits, product organizations, intrapreneurs.

Format. 30–45 minute keynote or fireside.

04

Women Navigating the AI Era

The fear is not a knowledge gap, it is a permission gap. This talk is that conversation at scale, delivered to a room of women: how to build real fluency in a safe space, get visible, and stop waiting for permission.

Best for. Women's summits, ERG events, leadership programs.

Format. 30-minute keynote, fireside, or workshop.

Selected stages. AI Engineer World's Fair (keynote) · Oracle AI World 2025 (on-air host) · DatabaseWorld (host and track keynote) · Oracle CloudWorld · Oracle OpenWorld Shanghai · Quest Blueprint4D Women in Tech (keynote) · Technovation Women's Summit · ColorStack (keynote) · Chicago Oracle User Group (keynote) · Carnegie Hall

Talking Points

Quotes cleared to run.

The Executive

VP, AI Database Product Management at Oracle. Built LiveLabs to 50M+ views. Delivers AI strategy to Fortune 100 C-suites.

  • Most enterprise AI doesn't fail at the model. It fails at the plumbing: memory, context, and the reliability nobody demos.
  • A demo proves a thing can happen once. Production asks whether it happens every day, for everyone, without anyone watching. Those are very different questions.
  • The companies moving fastest on AI aren't the ones with the best model access. They're the ones who made it easy for their own people to try something.
  • I built LiveLabs as a love letter to customers: give people access to build on powerful Oracle technology with the least friction possible, and they'll solve problems at lightning speed.

The Educator

LinkedIn Learning instructor. Applied Database Systems lecturer at Howard University; guest lecturer at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

  • If you can't explain it in plain English, you don't understand it yet. That goes for executives quoting AI strategy as much as anyone.
  • The fastest way to learn AI isn't a certification. Pick one real task you already do that takes a long time, and make the machine do it with you.
  • Agentic memory is the part people skip, and the part that decides whether the agent is useful at all. An agent that can't remember is a very expensive chatbot.
  • I teach the way I wish someone had taught me: assume the person is smart, assume they're busy, and don't make them feel stupid for asking.

The Corporate Creator

Creator of AI For You. Your Work Bestie. 2026 LinkedIn Top Voice for AI.

  • The question I get is never "how does a transformer work." It's "am I going to be okay." That deserves a real answer, not a tutorial.
  • AI isn't coming for your job. It's coming for the parts of your job you never wanted. What you do with the time you get back is the real career question.
  • I started AI For You because I kept having the same conversation with people in corporate who were ashamed to admit what they didn't know. The fear isn't a knowledge gap, it's a permission gap.
  • Being the only one in the room like you isn't a reason to be quiet. It's the reason the room needs you talking.
